To commemorate the valuable contribution of our brave soldiers in the service of the motherland, the Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on 7th December across the nation. This day is dedicated to remembering the valiant martyrs, disabled service personnel, ex-servicemen and their dependents and veterans with the purpose to ensure their rehabilitation and welfare. The month of December is also celebrated as pride month across India. This year the Armed Forces Flag Day Week is being observed from 1st December to 7th December, 2024 under the initiatives of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India
The Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) runs 10 welfare schemes across the country for the welfare of the ex-servicemen, widows and their dependents and as citizens, voluntary contributions to support the disabled, war widows, orphaned children becomes a collective responsibility. Contributions towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund can be made by any of the means mentioned in the attached Annexure and such contributions are exempted from income tax.
All the staff members and scholars are encouraged to download token flags from the website www.affdf.gov.in and wear it on their respective dress with pride which shall serve as a token of gratitude to the martyrs who have laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
