Catalysis is a central tenet of contemporary modern science. The production of fuels and pharmaceuticals relies heavily on research in catalysis, which can facilitate new and shorter routes for rapid access to APIs at milder temperature and pressure conditions, thus minimizing energy consumption and waste generation. The profound impact of catalysis extends across various scientific domains, playing a pivotal role in sustainable advancements and technological innovations.
The past few decades have witnessed a ginormous upsurge in catalysis research, paving the way for the development of new modes of catalysis, including but not limited to transition metal catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, biocatalysis, biomimetic catalysis, and their mergers. With the recent developments in computational prowess backed by AI and ML-driven algorithms, the rational design of catalysts has been greatly benefitted.
The first chapter of the International Conference on Catalysis -IC² 2024, to be organized from March 11-13, 2024, at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, aims to provide a common platform for researchers across disciplines to communicate their research to the catalysis community in a very interdisciplinary setting.
The conference will include scientific lectures from internationally renowned scientists from India and abroad, providing a unique opportunity to foster scientific collaboration. The conference will offer an opportunity for students to present their findings, which will help them to improve their understanding of the subject, thereby building their future careers. Furthermore, there will be a possibility for industrial participation and lectures focusing on the theme of the conference. This might open a new avenue for industry-academia collaboration.
