Subject :          Empanelment of Advocates for dealing with legal matters of IACS in High Court, Kolkata and other subordinate Courts.

Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), an autonomous scientific research institute funded by both Department of Science & Technology, Govt. Of India and Department of Higher Education, Govt. Of West Bengal invites applications from Indian Nationals for empanelment of Advocates initially for a period of three years which may be extended by the Competent Authority subject to satisfactory performance of such person.

Eligibility :                   i. Law Graduate (preferably L.L.M qualified) from a recognized University.

ii. At least 10 years or more experience in tendering advice in any of the fields including litigation, arbitration, conveyancing, cyber-law, infrastructure etc.

Age :                            45 years and above

Fees :                           Payment will be made as per the OM no. 26(1)/2014/Judl. Dated 1^st October, 2015    issued by Govt. Of India, Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Legal Affairs under category C read with OM no. 23(2)/2001/Judl. & 22(02)/2001 Dated 14^th July, 2001 and 23(2)/2011-judl dated 1^st October, 2011.

Duties :                        i. To give advice on all matters referred by the competent authority of IACS.

                                    ii. To look after the litigation cases of IACS

                                    iii. To conduct court cases and to appear in courts on behalf of the IACS wherever required.

Method of selection :   The candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualification, experience etc. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose, whose decision shall be final. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Intimation shall be sent only to the selected candidates.

                                    Apart from the above, all the rules and instructions of Govt. Of India, Ministry of Law & Justice, Dept. of Legal Affairs will be followed.

Interested candidates may submit their application in the enclosed format with two recent passport size photographs as per Annexure-I in sealed cover superscribed “Empanelment of Advocates” addressed to the Registrar, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Jadavpur, Kolkata 700032 within a period of 20 days from the date of publication of this circular. Application which is not made in the format as per Annexure-I and not received in time will be rejected outright.
