Research Associate (RA-II) in the School of Physical Sciences of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the post of Research Associate (RA-II) in the School of Physical Sciences of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata. The candidate should have PhD degree in Physics or Materials Science followed by at least two years of Post-PhD Research/Teaching experience. The candidate should have B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in physics with at least 55% of marks. |
Past research experience in experimental condensed matter physics/ electronics/ device physics or related areas with impressive research publications in reputed journals and impressive academic track record. |
Job Description: Supervision of UG and PG research laboratories in the School of Physical Sciences of IACS, laboratory instruction and guidance to UG and PG students, maintenance of non-trivial research facilities of common interest of the School and research work as assigned/ approved by the School Chair.
Tenure: This position is temporary (initially for one year and can be extended for another year based on satisfactory performance). The candidate will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
Fellowship: As per rules of IACS
Selection procedure: Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of merit. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview for the final selection. Merely satisfying the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. IACS holds full right of choosing a candidate and even not selecting any, in case suitable applications are not received.
*Note: Based on the past research experience, the selection committee holds the right to recommend the placement of the selected candidates as RA-II/RA-III.
