Advertisement for the position of Research Associate-I/Bridging fellow

Applications are invited for a RA-I / Bridging fellow (Institute) position under the supervision of Prof. Durga Basak, School of Physical Sciences, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science.
Name of the post: Research Associate-I/Bridge fellow
Number of post: One (01)
Broad Research Area: Condensed Matter Physics
Specific Research Area: Electrical transport properties of oxide thin films. Also, it is preferable that the candidate should have skill in handling high vacuum, RF and DC magnetron sputtering and Hall measurement systems.
Essential Qualifications:
1. A candidate should have first class or high second class in B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Physics with minimum average marks of 55%. The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree/submitted thesis (documentary proof to be submitted). Candidate should have research experience supported by good quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidate should have well established research experience in the above-mentioned areas along with the usual material characterization techniques. The candidate should be able to mentor junior students.
2. A selected candidate who is yet to receive Ph.D. degree will draw a fellowship amount as appropriate to a bridge fellowship as per the rules of IACS and will be eligible to receive the full RA-I fellowship from the award date of the doctoral degree, supported by documentary proof.
Fellowship: As per rules of IACS.
Tenure of Fellowship: 1 year subject to evaluation after 6 months by progress monitoring committee. The candidate will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
