Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Theoretical Physics

Applications are invited for recruitment of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) under the supervision of Prof. KrishnenduSengupta, Prof. Dilip Kumar Ghosh and Dr. Arnab Sen in the Department of Theoretical Physics by October31, 2017.

Research Area:Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics and High Energy Physics (Particle Physics Phenomenology)

Essential Qualifications:

a) A candidate should have a first or a high second class B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Physics with a minimum aggregate marks of 55% in each.

b) Additionally, for

Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics:

The candidate must have qualified in the NET/GATE/JEST examination.

High Energy Physics:

Only candidates who are qualified to obtain a research fellowship via CSIR/UGC NET examination/having INSPIRE fellowship may apply.

Fellowship  : As per IACS/ CSIR/UGC/INSPIRE rules.

Age limit  :Should be below 28 years on the date of  application. Age relaxation is applicable

as per Govt. rule.

Nationality         : The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
 

Selection Procedure :Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of merit. In this regard, percentage of marks obtained in Bachelors (including particulars like specialization etc.) & Masters, year of passing, present status/enrollment, qualification details of NET (type of NET whether UGC or CSIR, LS etc.)/GATE/JEST exams including ranks, INSPIRE fellowship and other distinctions should be mentioned in the application.  Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview toward the final selection.

Date of Interview: November 8 & 9, 2017 (Wednesday & Thursday)

The position is purely temporary and a candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) to any post in the Institute. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
