Professor Arindam Banerjee, Senior Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry has received the C.N.R. Rao National Prize in Chemical Sciences, instituted by C.N.R. Rao Education Foundation for promotion of Chemical Research, under the auspices of CRSI.

Professor Narayan Pradhan in the Department of Materials Science has received the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) Bronze Medal- 2017.

Professor Amlan Jyoti Pal, Senior Professor in the Department of Solid State Physics has been conferred the J C Bose Fellowship of DST.

Manish Debnath, a PhD student (DST-Inspire-JRF) working under Professor Jyotirmayee Dash in the Department of Organic Chemistry was selected as one of the representatives from India to attend the 8th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates by the Department of Science and Technology (DST, India) and Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS). On successful participation, he has been nominated as "JSPS HOPE Fellow" by the JSPS.

Professor Narayan Pradhan in the Department of Materials Science has been conferred the Young Career Award of the Nano Mission of DST.

Professor Kankan Bhattacharyya, Ex-Director and Senior Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry has been elected as a Vice-President of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA).

Professor Narayan Pradhan has been nominated for membership to the 2016 JPC Editorial Advisory Board (EAB), the term for which is January 2016 - December 2018.
