Our research is focused on the use of different controlled polymerization techniques as tools to synthesize various stimuli-responsive polymers/block copolymers/polypeptides, mesoporous polymers, peptide-polymer hybrids, amino acid-based polymers, metal/metal oxide-polymer hybrids for exploiting them in diversified range from advanced self-assembled nanomaterials to catalysts. We also aim to investigate the phase behaviors of newly designed ionic liquids, poly(ionic liquid)s and poly(zwitterions) in solid state and in solution and their materials applications. The research further includes synthesis of size- and shape-tunable metal, metal alloy and metal oxide nanostructures for catalysis/photocatalysis.
