Spectroscopy Lab
Our group is interested in development and application of different spectroscopic techniques to decode the unseen molecular level phenomena happening in the bulk and interface of several complex biological processes such as protein folding, DNA-protein, membrane-protein, membrane-DNA interactions, fungicides induced geno- and cyto-toxicity and properties of non-canonical amino acids.
We use the Sum Frequency Generation (SFG ) technique to decode the surface information and UV-Vis, IR, Fluorescence, Life Time, Up Conversion techniques to obtain the bulk information. Finally, molecular dynamics simulation and quantum chemical calculations are used to supplement the information obtained from the experiments.
Ph.D. positions are open for the CSIR/UGC/Inspire qualified students. Candidates interested for postdoctoral position are encouraged to apply for NPDF, CSIR-RA and DST women scientist fellowships.
