Polymer Science Unit
Polymer Science Unit (PSU) at IACS was established on 24th November, 1986 by rearrangement of the Physical Chemistry Department and Macromolecules. Currently PSU consists of 4 faculty members, 34 PhD students, 6 research associates and 5 supporting staff. Research activities of the unit includes new polymer synthesis, amphiphilic polymers for biological application, polymer-bioconjugates, conducting polymer and their blends, polymeric materials for organic electronics applications, drug delivery, supramolecular polymer and related area. During last five years, 19 students have received PhD from this unit and overall 181 research publications (average impact factor 4.89) have appeared in internationally reputed journals.
