Magnetic and Electronic Phenomena in correlated Electron system
The group is involved in the experimental investigations of solids having strong electron-electron correlation. In a crystalline solid, the effect of electron correlation has an important effect on its physical properties. The mutual interplay between charge, spin and the orbital moment of electrons in a crystalline solid can give rise to a plethora of fascinating events. The group primarily focuses on solids containing d or f group elements. Various experimental tools, such as magnetization, electrical transport, calorimetry, neutron scattering, muon spin relaxation, and x-ray absorption spectroscopy, are used to understand these novel materials.
