Nanobiotechnology: We work at the interface of chemistry, biology and materials science. We design colloidal nanoparticle and nanobioconjugate with controlled size and surface chemistry, study interaction with live cell, endocytotic uptake vs direct membrane penetration and subcellular targeting property. We design/develop sub-cellular imaging nanoprobe, reactive oxygen species generating nanoparticle for cell therapy, nanodrug for inhibiting protein aggregation in cell model and clearing amyloid aggregates from cell via autophagy induction, piezocatalytic nanoparticle for sound-based cell therapy, nanomotors for crossing of blood-brain barrier, nanocarrier for nucleus/mitochondria targeting of molecular drug and 2D surface for sunlight/sound-induced anti-bacterial property.
