Brief History and Research Activities
With Professor Santanu Bhattacharya taking over as the Director of IACS on April 22, 2015, Council in its meeting held on May 19, 2015 resolved to revive the Director's Research Unit as a full-fledged Department with normal departmental structure, having Professor Santanu Bhattacharya as the Senior Professor and Head of the Unit.
